Jang Gyuri (장규리) is a South Korean singer and actress. She is best known as the former lead vocalist and face of the girl group fromis_9 under Pledis Entertainment. Fans and fellow members playfully considered her as the 'father of the group' because of her tough as nails demeanor, coming off from her military family background. Prior to debuting, Gyuri appeared and competed in the show "Idol School" where she ranked 9th, earning her a spot in the group fromis_9.
She debuted as a member of fromis_9 on January 24, 2018 with the mini album To. Heart.
In May, 2018 Gyuri was revealed as a contestant of the Mnet's reality show, Produce 48. On August 26, Gyuri was eliminated from the competition after achieving 25th place, in the episode 11 and rejoined fromis_9. 
On May 10, 2019, Gyuri made her acting debut in tvN D's web drama Dating Class.
On July 28, 2022, Pledis Entertainment announced that Gyuri would be leaving fromis_9. She will wrap up her activities with the group and agency starting July 31st.

Gyuri was born in Seoul, but her father was a professional soldier, and he lived in various places in Busan, Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province, Gyeryeong City in Southeastern South Chungcheong Province. Their current home is in Pangyo.
Her father works in the military which is why she wants to appear on Real Men the most. She feels like she could do well because of her family background.

Gyuri appeared on “King of Masked Singer” ep. 195 as “Spring Flower/봄꽃”.
She also appeared in shows like: “Comedy Big League” (tvN), “Hello Counselor w/ Saerom” (KBS), “Prison Life of Fools” (tvN), “I Can See Your Voice” (Mnet).
She starred in the Korean Drama “It’s OK to Not be Okay” (2020).
